ARCO – Association for Research and Care of Urticaria is pleased to share with its members and Italian patients news of great importance for the field of urticaria care, particularly in pediatrics.
The Meyer Children’s Hospital in Florence has received official recognition as a UCARE (Urticaria Center of Reference and Excellence) for the treatment of chronic urticaria. This recognition was obtained following a positive audit conducted by GA²LEN UCARE (Dr. Riccardo Asero), thanks to the continuous work and clinical excellence of the Allergy team led by Dr. Francesca Mori.
“We are proud of this recognition,” said Dr. Mori. “We care for many children with this condition, about 40–50 cases each year. Urticaria has a strong impact on quality of life. It is often mistakenly considered an allergic disease, and the absence of an allergy diagnosis can be frustrating and confusing for families. Joining the UCARE network will allow us to apply international guidelines (EAACI / GA²LEN / EDF / WAO), participate in scientific studies, and access new therapies for increasingly effective management of chronic urticaria.”
To further strengthen this milestone, ARCO proudly announces that since July it has become an accredited association of Meyer. This new and significant collaboration with Dr. Mori’s team represents a fundamental step in advancing research and care for pediatric urticaria.
ARCO, long committed to supporting patients and spreading accurate information about urticaria, will work alongside the Meyer team to amplify the impact of clinical and scientific activities, fostering an increasingly integrated network between hospital, families, and community.
